Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 28, 2026

HJA Ventures LLC, doing business as Hey Jessica™ App, (hereinafter “Hey Jessica,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it in accordance with this policy. For context, this Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you download, install, register for, access, or use the Hey Jessica mobile application and any related websites, features, content, or services we offer (collectively, the “App” or “Services”), and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

Hey Jessica is a financial education and coaching platform designed to help women build financial confidence and pursue financial freedom through approachable money and investing education, personalized guidance, and transformative programs.

As part of the Services, Hey Jessica intends to integrate with Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to allow you to voluntarily and securely connect your financial accounts so that we can help you understand your spending patterns and provide more personalized insights.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect through the App, through your communications with us (e.g., customer support, surveys), and through our marketing activities. It does not apply to information collected by any third party, including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from the App, or to any third-party websites or services you may access through the App, including Plaid. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use in connection with the App.

Our Services are intended for users located in the United States who are 18 years of age or older. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws, to the extent local laws are applicable.

2. Information We Collect

We collect several types of information from and about users of the App, including information:

A)
by which you may be personally identified (“personal information”);
B)

2.2 Financial Account Information Collected Through Plaid

If you choose to use the account-linking feature of the App, you will be directed to Plaid's interface (“Plaid Link”) to select and authenticate with your bank, credit union, brokerage, or other financial institution. When you connect an account through Plaid:

Your login credentials for your financial institution are entered directly into Plaid's secure interface and are not accessed, viewed, or stored by Hey Jessica.
Plaid shares certain data with us on your behalf, which may include account and routing numbers, account balances, account type, transaction history, transaction descriptions and categories, merchant names, and identity information associated with the linked account.
We use this data solely to provide the Services you request, including analyzing your spending patterns, generating budgeting insights, tracking progress toward financial goals, and personalizing educational content and guidance.

Plaid's collection, use, and storage of your information is governed by Plaid's own privacy policy, available at plaid.com/legal, which we encourage you to review. You may revoke Hey Jessica's access to your linked financial data at any time within the App's account settings, and, where applicable, directly through Plaid's consent portal at my.plaid.com, or by contacting your financial institution.

2.3 Information We Collect Automatically

As you navigate through and interact with the App, we may automatically collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and usage patterns, including:

Device information, such as device type, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, and app version.
Usage data, such as features used, screens viewed, content interacted with, session duration and frequency, referring/exit pages, and crash or error data.
Location information, such as general (city- or region-level) location derived from your IP address, or precise location if you grant the App permission to access device location services (which you may enable or disable at any time through your device settings).
Log and analytics data collected through cookies, software development kits (SDKs), pixel tags, and similar tracking technologies, as described further in Section 5 below.

2.4 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from other sources, such as:

Plaid and, indirectly, the financial institutions you choose to connect, as described in Section 2.2.
Analytics providers, advertising partners, and app platforms (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play), such as install attribution or advertising identifier data.
Social media platforms, if you choose to log in, register, or share content using a third-party account (e.g., Google or Apple sign-in), in which case we may receive information such as your name and email address from that platform in accordance with your privacy settings on that platform.
Payment processors, regarding successful or failed transactions and limited billing information necessary to provide the Services and prevent fraud.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information, for purposes such as:

Providing, operating, maintaining, and improving the App and the Services, including personalized financial education content, coaching, budgeting insights, and progress tracking.
Operating, refining, and training conversational artificial intelligence models, natural language processing algorithms, and synthetic video features (“Deep Fake Jessica”) using fully de-identified, aggregated, and anonymized Chat Data and interaction logs.
Facilitating retrospective quality assurance reviews by authorized administrators and Accredited Financial Counselors (AFCs) on anonymized Chat Data to verify educational accuracy and safety standards, without accessing user PII or account credentials.
Analyzing your connected financial account data (via Plaid) to generate spending insights, budgeting summaries, trend analysis, and personalized recommendations within the App.
Creating and managing your account, processing transactions, and fulfilling orders for programs, subscriptions, or services you request.
Communicating with you, including responding to inquiries, providing customer support, and sending administrative information such as updates to our terms, conditions, and policies.
Sending marketing communications about products, services, promotions, and events that may be of interest to you, where permitted by law and subject to your communication preferences.
Personalizing your experience, including tailoring content, program recommendations, and features based on your goals, activity, and preferences.
Conducting research and analytics, in aggregated or de-identified form, to understand how users engage with the App and to improve our products and Services.
Detecting, investigating, and preventing fraudulent transactions, unauthorized access, and other illegal activities, and protecting the rights, property, and safety of Hey Jessica, our users, and others.
Complying with applicable legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements, including our Terms of Service.

We do not use the financial account data we receive through Plaid to make credit decisions about you, and Hey Jessica is not a lender, broker-dealer, investment adviser, or financial institution.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for money. We may disclose personal information that we collect, or that you provide, as described in this Privacy Policy, in the following circumstances:

Service providers and vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, data storage, customer support, analytics, email and push notification delivery, and payment processing, including Plaid, subject to confidentiality and data protection obligations.
Business transfers, such as a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, in which personal information may be among the assets transferred.
Professional advisors, such as our lawyers, accountants, auditors, and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services they render to us.
Legal and regulatory purposes, to comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including responding to any government or regulatory request, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
With your consent or at your direction, such as when you choose to share content or connect the App to another third-party service.
Aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you personally may be shared for any purpose, including research, marketing, or analytics.

Certain analytics and advertising technologies used in the App (see Section 5) may involve the sharing of device or usage identifiers with third parties in a manner that may be considered a “sale” or “share” of personal information under certain state privacy laws, even though no personal information is exchanged for monetary payment. Where applicable, we provide opt-out mechanisms as described in Section 7.

5. Cookies, SDKs, and Tracking Technologies

The App may use cookies (in any embedded web views), mobile analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA or Google's Advertising ID), and similar technologies to collect usage and device information, remember your preferences, understand how you use the App, and, where applicable, measure the effectiveness of our marketing. You can control the collection of certain identifiers, such as advertising identifiers or location data, through your device's privacy settings (for example, under "Settings > Privacy" on iOS or "Settings > Ads" on Android).

We currently do not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because no common industry standard for such signals has been adopted. If a standard is adopted, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain your account, comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a commercially reasonable period, except where we are required or permitted to retain it for legal, tax, accounting, security, or fraud-prevention purposes. Disconnecting a financial account through Plaid stops future data collection from that account but does not automatically delete historical data already stored by Hey Jessica; you may separately request deletion of that data as described in Section 8.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect and maintain against accidental, unlawful, or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure, or use. These safeguards include, among others, encryption of data in transit, access controls limiting employee access to personal information on a need-to-know basis, and reliance on Plaid's bank-level security standards for the transmission of financial account data. Hey Jessica does not access, view, or store your financial institution login credentials.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk.

8. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

8.1 Account Information and Communication Preferences

You may review, update, correct, or delete certain account information at any time by logging into the App and accessing your account settings, or by contacting us at the email address below. You may opt out of receiving promotional emails from us by following the unsubscribe instructions in those emails, and you may opt out of push notifications through your device settings. Please note that even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send you non-promotional, transactional, or administrative messages, such as those related to your account or the Services.

8.2 State Privacy Law Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have certain rights under applicable U.S. state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), the New Jersey Data Privacy Act (NJDPA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA), and similar laws in other states. These rights may include the right to:

Confirm whether we are processing your personal information and access that information.
Correct inaccurate personal information.
Delete personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain exceptions.
Obtain a copy of your personal information in a portable format.
Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and of targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising, and of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information (which, under some state laws, may include certain financial account information).
Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights.
Appeal a decision we make in response to your request, as described below.

To exercise any of these rights, you or your authorized agent may submit a request to us using the contact information in Section 12. We will verify your request using information associated with your account, which may include your name and email address, and may request additional information to verify your identity where necessary.

We will respond to verifiable requests within the time period required by applicable law. If we deny your request, in whole or in part, you may appeal that decision by contacting us at the email address in Section 12 and stating that you wish to appeal; we will respond to your appeal within the time period required by applicable law and will explain the reasons for our decision in writing.

8.3 California “Shine the Light”

California residents may request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes without your consent. If this practice changes, we will update this section accordingly.

8.4 Automated Processing and AI Interaction Disclosures

In accordance with applicable state privacy laws (including the New Jersey Data Privacy Act and CCPA/CPRA), you are hereby notified that the App utilizes automated decision-making and machine-learning algorithms to provide dynamic educational recommendations and point-of-sale spending prompts. These automated features provide educational simulations and do not produce legal, fiduciary, or binding financial determinations. You retain the right to opt out of certain automated profiling features within your App account settings.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at the email address below, and we will take steps to delete such information from our systems.

10. Financial Institutions and Third-Party Services

Hey Jessica is a financial education and coaching platform. We are not a bank, broker-dealer, investment adviser, credit counseling agency, or other regulated financial institution, and nothing in the App or this Privacy Policy should be construed as financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Because Hey Jessica is not itself a “financial institution” as defined under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), the GLBA's specific notice and opt-out requirements generally do not apply directly to us; however, we have implemented safeguards for financial account information consistent with industry best practices, including those reflected in the Federal Trade Commission's Safeguards Rule.

Plaid, and the financial institutions you connect through Plaid, are separately responsible for their own compliance with applicable financial privacy laws, including GLBA, and their own privacy and security practices.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. If we make material changes, we will notify you by revising the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy, and, where required by law, we will provide additional notice, such as an in-app notification or an email notification.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of the App after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
